Arizona's Special Case: MST Year-Round

Arizona is the only continental state that skips daylight saving time. The whole state (except the Navajo Nation) stays on Mountain Standard Time (MST, UTC-7) all year.

That means: - March to November: Arizona runs one hour behind the rest of the Mountain zone, which has switched to MDT. - November to March: Arizona matches the rest of the Mountain zone. - The Navajo Nation, straddling Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah, does observe DST. Inside Arizona, Navajo land jumps one hour ahead of the rest of the state for half the year.

When Mountain Time Observes DST

Mountain Time follows the same federal DST schedule as Eastern, Central, and Pacific.

2026 spring forward: Sunday, 8 March at 2:00 a.m. MST → 3:00 a.m. MDT.
2026 fall back: Sunday, 1 November at 2:00 a.m. MDT → 1:00 a.m. MST.
2027 spring forward: Sunday, 14 March at 2:00 a.m. MST → 3:00 a.m. MDT.
2027 fall back: Sunday, 7 November at 2:00 a.m. MDT → 1:00 a.m. MST.
